“The Gift” on Elizabeth’s page … check it out!

Elizabeth has returned, and she has provided another wonderful wandering for us to enjoy.

Back at Bluestone Farm …

We are still busy with harvesting and preserving. The latest? — tomatoes (galore), peppers (just ripening now), eggplants (four different kinds), okra, potatoes, beets, turnips, broccoli, kale, cabbage, basil, shisho, summer squash … what a profusion of color and taste! And the chickens and ducks are producing eggs faster than we can consume them, so our neighbors are enjoying the bounty as well.

Blessings to you all in this season of wild abundance.

  1. “Wild abundance.” Yes, that’s it exactly.

I’ve been up to my neck in peppers. For some odd reason the peppers ripened before the tomatoes, which we are just starting to get in galore. All this after the galore of beans. I keep reminding myself that all this work now will mean less work during the winter, at least in terms of cooking preparation. That will give me more time for the introspection of the season, I suppose.

I enjoyed Elizabeth’s first post. I’m off to read this one.
